Newborn/Family FAQ

How do I book my session?
In the Product page, simply add your selected session and applicable options to your cart and checkout. Once you have paid via the storefront, your session is officially booked! You should receive a confirmation email from me within 72 hours. 

How far in advance should I book my session?
Newborn sessions should be booked while you are still pregnant, preferably during the second trimester, to ensure that there is availability to photograph them during the first 14 days! Peak season for outdoor family, milestone, or senior photos is April-May and September-November. Sessions during those times will book months in advance. It’s best to schedule as early as possible!

Are payment plans available?
For all sessions, a retainer of $100 is due at the time of booking. The remaining session fee is due at the time of the session except for the First Year Plan or Bump+Baby package. Contact me if you need to setup other payment arrangements. Retainers are non-refundable.

How long does it take to get my images?
Within two weeks of your session, I will send you a link to a password protected online gallery where you can view and download your images. If you purchased a disc of images, it will be sent after the online gallery has been posted.

I want to book a maternity session, but not a newborn session. Can I?
I have packaged the maternity session at a discount in the Bump+Baby package. If you’d like only a maternity session, then please book a family session in the store.

What about newborn twins?
There is no upcharge for twins at all, but the newborn session could be a little longer than usual.

My newborn has Down syndrome, was born premature, has a cast for a club foot, or any other special circumstance. Can we still have a newborn session?
Absolutely! I have been trained and had experience with newborns that have special circumstances. Your precious newborn can have a newborn session, we might need to make adjustments, but absolutely, I’d love to meet him or her!

How do we pick a location?
Newborn sessions take place in my residential studio near downtown Tyler/Azalea District area. For outdoor sessions, I will travel anywhere near Tyler or to Kilgore at no charge! You can select your location, or I can help you choose one as well.

What happens if it is cloudy or rains on the day of my outdoor session?
In the event of rain or an overcast day during a scheduled outdoor session we will reschedule for a different date. If it is cloudy on the rescheduled date, we will still shoot. If it rains again, we will reschedule again.

What if the session time interferes with my child’s nap time or bedtime?
My style of outdoor photography is achievable only during the last hours of sunlight. I know how difficult it can be to adjust a child’s schedule, however I promise that your effort will be rewarded in gorgeous images lit by perfect sunlight!

Who provides the props?
For newborn sessions, I do! Just tell me your color preferences, and I will have plenty of options ready to go at your session. If you have a few sentimental props to include, please let me know and we will work them in. For outdoor milestone and family sessions, my style is very simple and focused on the child or family, so the only props I bring are simple chairs, stools, or blankets. If you’d like anything else, please bring it along and we will work it in.
